 About Me

Paula grew up in the tiny town of Garberville in northern California where she spent the first 18 years of life running around in the woods around her house, taking ballet, jazz, modern, salsa, West African, bellydance and any other dance classes she could find, studying the violin, and gererally enjoying life in the Redwoods.  After graduating high school in 2000 she spent a year studying and traveling in Argentina as an exchange student and began her studies at UC San Diego in 2001.
Paula began practicing massage in 2002 for the wellness department at UCSD.  She mainly worked with triatheletes and other athletes and dancers helping them to maintain a level of flexibility and relaxation necessary for intense activities as well as to recover from injury when it occurred and keep their bodies limber to prevent future injury.  She also worked with many students and professors and taught massage fundamentals to the UCSD pre-med student group and other student organizations.
After receiving her bachelor's degree Paula studied French in France for 6 months, which included traveling to Italy, Greece, Spain and England between courses.  She also continued her education with pre-medical classes such as organic chemistry and microbiology (to name a few) in order to enter into the naturopathic medical program at Bastyr University.  In 2008 Paula began the ND program, but soon found that she was more interested in being a specialist than a general practitioner.  She recently received her RN degree from North Seattle Community College and eventually plans to pursue a master's or doctorate degree in nurse-midwifery.
Paula also completed the certified yoga instructor training at Ananda Temple in Bothell as well as doula training at Seattle School of Midwifery.  She is available for yoga instruction or doula support as time permits.  From 2009 to 2012 Paula also taught group and private instruction in Salsa and Bachata at Salsa Con Todo in Seattle, WA, while also performing around the country.  She has also taught salsa and bellydance in various US cities, the Netherlands and Argentina. She is now moving back to northern California to pursue a career as a registered nurse, provide massage and open a sister-branch of Salsa Con Todo in Arcata CA.

Paula's passions include dance of all kinds, sleeping under the stars, traveling, eating healthy food, massage, yoga, women's health, learning new things and meeting new people.
